Installing Xubuntu 18.04

Xubuntu 18.04 32-bit was installed using the Hobbynet PXE server. All answers needed during installation are straitforward. Defaults are often correct only the country needs to be set to Europe/Netherlands. I left the language on US-english. After rebooting the Wifi was not recognized. Enter boot mode with F12 and use the standard network interface.

The Wifi chip needs the b43 driver. Install it:

d610# apt-get install firmware-b43-installer
d610# modprobe b43
d610# reboot

After reboot the Wifi is working.

Additional software

I use vi most of the time and are used to aptitude over apt-get.

d610# apt-get update
d610# apt-get install aptitude vim

Install a 32 bits client for Stack. TransIP has only 64 bit versions. Stack seems to be campatible with OwnCloud.

d610# apt-get install owncloud-client

Configure the client.
